Ariella Orbach

Ariella Orbach, Espace Stratégies

Ariella Orbach, M.Sc. (MSPL) is a Senior Consultant at Espace Stratégies. She has nearly 10 years’ experience in community development, more specifically in collaborative project development and management, and in training and community capacity building. Over the years, she has developed an expertise in supporting local development in rural and remote Aboriginal communities.

Ariella has spent much of her career working as an independent consultant, bringing together or joining multidisciplinary teams to carry out varied mandates. In particular, she has been involved in the following mandates:

  • Analysis and updating of operational policies for a Nunavut public governance institution
  • External evaluation of the Community Health Plans of two First Nations
  • A review of Canada’s national Aboriginal broadcasting policies
  • Training workshops for Inuit youth in employability and professional development.

Ariella holds a master’s degree in Land Use Planning and Rural Development from the University of Guelph in Ontario.

COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE, FACILITATION AND COMMUNITY WELL-BEING

Ariella is particularly interested in the emergence of collective intelligence within groups, in collaborative and inclusive contexts. She has applied her expertise in participatory group facilitation methods in a variety of contexts, from stakeholder workshops to youth group consultation.

She is also a meticulous researcher and analyst who, throughout her career, has applied her research skills to the discovery of innovative solutions for community well-being.

Ariella thrives in cross-cultural and collaborative environments. She cofounded a participatory communications training and research project for indigenous youth in Chile. She regularly accompanies the community carriers of the initiative, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020, in project development and management.
